DIRECTV, now part of the AT&T family, has been named an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year by the EPA each year since 2013. The Sustained Excellence award recognizes our continued leadership in environmental protection through superior energy efficiency achievements.
ENERGY STAR Climate Communicator Award (2016)
DIRECTV, now part of the AT&T family, was awarded with a 2016 ENERGY STAR Climate Communicator Award for its outstanding efforts to elevate the issue of climate change by hosting a live virtual event in celebration of National ENERGY STAR Day 2015.
Distintivo ESR® (2016)
AT&T is listed as a socially responsible enterprise with the Distintivo ESR®, an accreditation for a company’s voluntary and public commitments to socially responsible management and integration of corporate responsibility into culture and business strategies. The Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi) and the Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility in Mexico (AliaRSE) call on businesses that operate in Mexico to obtain the ESR Distinction. Nextel Mexico, now part of AT&T, was recognized with the distinction from 2004 to 2015.
World’s Most Admired Companies, Top 50 (2009–2010, 2012, 2014-2015)
AT&T continues to remain on Fortune’s Most Admired Companies Top 50 list. In 2015, the company was recognized as the No. 1 telecommunications company, which included first-place rankings on innovation, social responsibility and people management for the sector.

CR Magazine 100 Best Corporate Citizens List (2011-2016)
This corporate citizenship ranking recognizes top corporate citizens based on publicly available environmental, social and governance data. In 2016, AT&T ranked 12th on CR Magazine's 100 Best Corporate Citizens list.
Euronext Vigeo (2013-2016)
AT&T is included on the Euronext Vigeo World 120 and Euronext Vigeo US 50 indices. These indices distinguish companies achieving the most advanced environmental, social and governance performance.
FTSE4Good Index (2010-2016)
AT&T continues to be a member company of the FTSE4Good Index. As institutional investors around the world put increasing focus on the environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices of the companies they invest in, ESG risk measures are an increasingly important part of the investment process.
S&P Indices (2015)
AT&T is listed as a top 10 constituent of the S&P 500 Environmental & Socially Responsible Index and the S&P Global 1200 Carbon Efficient Index. The S&P 500 Environmental & Socially Responsible Index measures the performance of securities from the S&P 500 that meet particular environmental and social sustainability criteria, while the S&P Global 1200 Carbon Efficient Index measures a company’s performance as it relates to their level of carbon emissions.
Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (2010, 2012-13, 2015)
CDP's Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index includes companies that have demonstrated strong internal data management practices for the measurement of greenhouse gas emissions and energy use. AT&T has submitted disclosure to CDP since 2005, and our most recent response is available here.
NASDAQ QCRD Global Sustainability Index (2015)
AT&T is listed to the NASDAQ QCRD Global Sustainability Index (QCRD) for the company’s commitment and progress in addressing its social, environmental and economic impacts. The QCRD serves as a benchmark for stocks of companies that are taking a leadership role in sustainability performance reporting and are traded on a major North American stock exchange.
Calvert U.S. Large Cap Core Responsible Index Fund (2012-2014)
AT&T was listed to the Top 10 Holdings of the Calvert U.S. Large Cap Core Responsible Index Fund, which tracks corporate sustainability progress as well as financial indicators.
Ethibel EXCELLENCE Investment Register (2012-2014)
The Ethibel EXCELLENCE Investment Register is one of the oldest socially responsible investing organizations.
Maplecroft Climate Innovation Index (inception-2014)
AT&T ranked 22 of 100 on the U.S. list, and increased its listing to 53rd on the global Leaders and Benchmark Indices.
Governors Highway Safety Association Achievement Award (2014)
AT&T received the 2014 Peter K. O'Rourke Special Achievement Award in recognition of outstanding highway safety accomplishments in 2013 for theIt Can Wait movement against texting while driving.
Dow Jones Sustainability Index North America (2010-2013)
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index North America is based on a rigorous analysis of corporate, economic, environmental and social performance. The index tracks the performance of the top 20 percent of the 600 biggest North American companies in the Dow Jones Global Total Stock Market Index that lead the field in terms of sustainability.

Philanthropy and Volunteerism
Presidential Volunteer Service Award (2007-2014)
In 2014, more than 4,000 AT&T employees received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, the highest award recognizing employee volunteerism. A record number of employees volunteered more than 100 hours in 2013! We are proud of our employees’ commitment to service.
The Civic 50 (2012-2014, 2016)
The Civic 50 identifies and recognizes companies for their commitment to improving the quality of life in the communities where they do business. AT&T was recognized as the No. 1 most community-minded company in the communications category in 2016, 2013, and earned the number three spot in this inaugural list of America’s most community-minded companies in 2012.
