Transportation Initiatives

Finding cleaner, more efficient methods of powering our vehicles is important for this country’s economy, security and environment.

With one of the largest commercial fleets in the U.S., we need to be part of the solution.

In 2009, we made a commitment to invest up to $565 million to deploy approximately 15,000 alternative-fuel vehicles (AFVs) over a 10-year period through 2018, which is estimated to result in the carbon emission reduction of 211,000 metric tons.

AT&T’s deployment of alternative fuel vehicles has saved the company from purchasing 18.3 million gallons of gasoline in the first six years of the program. AT&T deployed 10,628 alternative fuel vehicles through the end of 2014, out of more than 77,000 AT&T vehicles on the road.
