Thousands of youth served by Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) concluded the 2013 – 2014 academic school year successfully with the help of supporters like AT&T, that provided more than $1.7 million to Clubs across the country.  With funding from AT&T, BGCA expanded its dropout prevention program BE GREAT: Graduate to increase high school success and readiness by adding a 9th grade cohort.  The pilot cohorts just completed their first year, helping 250 9th graders across the country successfully transition into high school. In the 2014-15 school year, AT&T also will host mentoring events for BGCA students.

BE GREAT: Graduate is designed to enhance each student's engagement with learning by providing consistent support from caring and trusted adults in developing the academic, emotional and social skills needed to achieve academic success.  The program uses early warning signs – including attendance, behavior and course failure -- to identify youth at risk for dropping out, and increases their engagement at Clubs.
