Innovation in Silicon Valley

Our third FutureCast addressed global hubs of innovation with keynote guest David Kirkpatrick, the author of The Facebook Effect and founder of Techonomy. The discussion brought together more than 40 thought leaders to discuss and debate whether Silicon Valley was still considered the center of innovation. Overall, participants agreed that innovation is happening in all parts of the globe, and that while Silicon Valley is still at the forefront of innovation, it is no longer seen as the primary place for technology companies to emerge. The discussion aimed to identify characteristics of innovative cities, as well as what lessons innovation hubs could learn from each other.
