This is an event in which computer programmers and others involved in software development, including graphic designers, interface designers and project managers, collaborate intensively on software projects.

The hackathon will start at 6 p.m. on Friday October 10th and  go straight through the night until 6 p.m. Saturday October 11th. Students (the majority female)  will work to create new mobile apps using cutting edge platforms and hardware.

Alex Donn, AT&T Senior Marketing Manager will provide opening remarks.

At AT&T, we welcome approximately 25,000 new hires to the company every year, and it is critical that each one is able to hit the ground running from day one with the skills necessary for success.  That includes “hard skills” like science, technology, engineering and math – almost ¾ of AT&T’s recent new hires begin their careers with us in the STEM fields – and also 21st century career skills like leadership, critical thinking and collaboration.

STEM is a focus of AT&T Aspire, the company’s signature education initiative focused on school success and career readiness.
