First Wireless Carrier to Offer Insurance on Non-Connected Devices and Declining Deductibles
Whether it’s using GPS while traveling for a family vacation, responding to an e-mail from work, or getting play-by-play updates on your favorite sports team, mobile devices are essential to our daily lives, be it a smartphone, tablet or laptop. Many of us rarely go more than a few minutes without checking our devices. So when the unexpected happens and your device is lost, stolen, damaged, or needs technical support, you need a backup plan.
At AT&T, we’re now offering even more flexibility to our current Mobile Insurance line-up. Beginning May 23, we’re introducing AT&T Multi-Device Protection Pack for $29.99 a month,* which expands your device protection options even further. Once you select a primary device (a device connected to the AT&T wireless network with a post-paid monthly service), you will be able to add two additional eligible devices, which may be either connected or non-connected.** The additional two devices, which can be tablets, laptops or smartphones, can be added at any time after your AT&T Multi-Device Protection Pack purchase (claims for non-connected devices cannot be made until 30 days after MDPP enrollment). AT&T Multi-Device Protection Pack combines a variety of services to protect your can’t-live-without-it devices:
- Replace it †: AT&T Multi-Device Insurance replaces or repairs devices that are lost, stolen, damaged or are experiencing mechanical or electrical failure after the manufacturer’s warranty has expired. Customers can submit claims 24/7, online (beginning 8/31) or by calling Asurion Customer Care at 1-888-562-8662.
- Support it: AT&T Multi-Device Enhanced Support†† can help you get the most out of all your covered devices by bringing you direct, live support — via phone or web chat — for device setup, “how-to” help with back-up, storage and battery life issues, as well as other troubleshooting assistance. You can also allow expert technicians to remotely and securely access and control your device to help manage your needs.
- Locate it††† : With one click, the AT&T Mobile Locate app allows you to GPS locate, lock, wipe, or sound an alarm on your lost or stolen eligible device. Mobile Locate also allows customers to back-up and restore personal contacts, photos and videos.

** Connected devices are mobile devices that are connected to the AT&T wireless network with a post-paid monthly voice or data plan, whereas non-connected devices such as Wi-Fi tablets or laptops are not connected to an AT&T postpaid monthly voice or data plan. Non-connected phones are excluded.
***Deductible varies depending on device model and connected/non-connected device. Limited to six (6) claims within any consecutive 12 months with a maximum replacement value of $1,500 per claim.
† Claims approved by 5PM CST will be shipped and, in most cases, delivered the next day for connected devices. Non-connected device repair and replacement takes 3–5 business days after receipt of device by Asurion.
