When it comes to creating a cleaner planet, what’s your thing? Maybe it’s recycling or printing less to save trees.
As part of our commitment to create a better, more environmentally sustainable world, we recently set a goal to achieve “zero waste”1 at 100 AT&T facilities by the end of 2020.
Our zero waste goal builds on our existing programs to keep waste out of landfills.
Our world is facing significant questions in the 21st century. One of the most vexing is how will we continue to support 9 billion people without inhibiting our natural environment's ability to support us?
As the zero waste program is rolled-out, you can help by participating and encouraging your colleagues to do the same. Whether you’re at work or home, here are some things we can all do to help.
- Print less
- Recycle packages and containers
- Stop using bottled water (use a reusable cup)
- Reuse home and office supplies when possible
“It takes all of us working together to protect our planet. That’s why we want to apply the power of our network and our people to be part of the waste solution,” said Charlene Lake, chief sustainability officer and senior vice president-Corporate Social Responsibility. “Stepping onto the path to zero waste is a way we all can improve our global headquarters community and other communities where we live and work.”
