Senior Vice President, Wireless Network Architecture and Design, AT&T Inc.
Marachel Knight is senior vice president of Wireless Network Architecture and Design. She oversees the architecture and design of the AT&T wireless network, wireline access, mobility services, wireless device technology and tools.
Marachel previously served as vice president of Advanced Technology and Planning. She was responsible for driving the execution of planning, architecture, design, development and deployment of advanced network technologies. This included monumental initiatives such as 5G Evolution, Project AirGig and software-defined networking, across AT&T.
Prior to this role, Marachel led the AT&T Midwest Construction and Engineering team responsible for planning, design, construction and field operations of the AT&T wireless and wireline network infrastructure across 10 states.
Marachel has held several other leadership positions in engineering, marketing and technology operations. She was responsible for service assurance, incident management, risk management, disaster recovery, strategic program management and technology chief of staff.
Marachel has invented two patents: Systems for Use with Multi-Number Cellular Devices and Messaging Forwarding System. For her achievements, Marachel received the 2016 Top 100 under 50 Diverse Executive Leaders Award (Diversity MBA Magazine), 2014 Women of Color Professional Achievement Award, 2013 Black Engineer of the Year President's Award and has been featured in Diversity/Careers in Engineering and Information Technology magazine.
Marachel serves on the board of directors of National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering, Inc. and on the advisory board of After School Matters. Marachel co-established and is a national advisor for AT&T Women of Technology and is a national board advisor for oxygen, an AT&T employee resource group. Marachel also serves on the Carnegie Mellon University's Information Networking Institute Alumni Leadership. Marachel gives back by volunteering her time to mentor professionals and speak to youth.
Marachel is a licensed Professional Engineer and certified Project Management Professional. She received her master's degree in information networking from Carnegie Mellon University and holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Florida State University.
Marachel currently resides in Dallas and enjoys reading, traveling and watching football.
