AT&T* Inc. has named Suzanne Montgomery chief accessibility officer. As an AT&T champion for accessibility, she will work closely with the company’s Corporate Accessibility Technology Office (CATO). CATO works hand-in-hand with the business to help ensure AT&T products and solutions are accessible to people with disabilities.

“At AT&T, we include all,” said Suzanne. “More than half of us have some sort of accessibility need. So it makes good business sense to focus on accessibility solutions. But, more importantly, it fills a crucial need and exposes the special skills and unique talents found within diverse communities. Beyond that, it’s just the right thing to do.”

In preparation for the role, Suzanne has immersed herself in the accessibility community, meeting with leaders of various organizations and expanding the role of accessibility within AT&T.

“Suzanne understands the importance of accessibility,” said David Huntley, SEVP and chief compliance officer. “She’s prepared herself well for this role and I’m confident that through her leadership, she will continue to help AT&T lead the way in accessibility.”

Over the past 10 months, she’s overseen a number of accessibility initiatives, proving she leads with action – not talk. These include the launch of AT&T’s inaugural Global Accessibility Awareness Day, a new award recognizing employee commitment to accessibility, the AT&T Advisory Panel on Access and Aging, growing AT&T’s Accessibility Awareness Lab, conference participation and AT&T’s new Accessibility & Inclusion workgroup.

Suzanne’s new role will further promote AT&T’s efforts, which have earned AT&T recognition as a leading company for diversity inclusion. AT&T achieved a score of 100 on Diversity Inc.’s Disability Equality Index for 4 years in a row. And AT&T has received the National Organization on Disability’s Leading Disability Employer Seal for the last 2 years.

Suzanne will continue to serve as vice president-Compliance. She’ll be responsible for the strategic planning and development for AT&T’s Chief Compliance Office and compliance oversight of mergers & acquisitions and non-controlling interests. Prior to joining the Chief Compliance Office in 2016, Suzanne held several positions within AT&T’s Legal department, including experience as a litigation attorney.
