SINGAPORE, Sept. 18, 2014AT&T⃰ is providing advanced mobility, data and video communication services to the Infiniti Red Bull Racing team that will help accelerate the development of its cars and enhance the team’s productivity. As each Formula One race track is unique, engineers and designers must share vital information to create a bespoke car for every race.

“Formula One cars are far more complex this season due to the biggest regulation changes in 20 years. This is now as much a technology race as it is a car race.  Fast and reliable communications are a game changer, playing a bigger part in helping our engineers at the track gather the right data to configure the cars.  The ability to freely communicate and exchange information will accelerate this process,” said Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s Christian Horner, Team Principal.

AT&T mobility services will allow team members to easily work with their colleagues from trackside to factory using smartphones. The team will have full control over all mobile devices accessing their corporate apps and content using an AT&T mobile device management solution.  This means they can monitor and block any potentially harmful websites and applications. If a device is lost or stolen, the team can wipe important data from the device so it does not end up in the wrong hands. AT&T is also providing 24 x 7 technical helpdesk support and professional services.

AT&T is working with Infiniti Red Bull Racing to provide a unified communication solution featuring instant messaging. IP-based phone services, presence and video conferencing will be deployed in the future.

“Our solutions mean that the team can work together to gain vital competitive advantage around-the-clock at races around-the-world – like this week’s Singapore Grand Prix,” said AT&T’s Bernard Yee, Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific.

As an Infiniti Red Bull Racing Innovation Partner, AT&T has been working with the team for the last three years, providing advanced network services so that the team remains connected wherever they are in the world.
