New Position Responsible for Expanding U-verse with AT&T GigaPower

SAN ANTONIO, Sept. 21, 2015AT&T1 is gearing up for the September 28 launch of U-verse with AT&T GigaPower in the San Antonio area with a new leader – Kevin Ryan.

Ryan is responsible for coordinating AT&T’s efforts to raise awareness and inform customers about the benefits of having access to ultra-fast Internet through the AT&T GigaPower network.

“U-verse with AT&T GigaPower delivers Internet speeds and services unlike anything most customers in San Antonio have seen,” said Renee Flores, regional vice president of external and legislative affairs. “I look forward to working with Kevin to ensure residents and small businesses understand its potential to improve quality of life, increase educational opportunities and spur on economic development.”

With AT&T GigaPower, customers are able to download 25 songs in less than a second or their favorite HD movie in less than 36 seconds.2 U-verse with AT&T GigaPower customers will have access to Internet speeds up to 1 gigabit per second and AT&T’s award-winning U-verse TV and voice services. The service operates on a 100% fiber network.

“We’ve seen strong demand for U-verse with AT&T GigaPower, and sales have exceeded our expectations in the metro areas where it is available,” Ryan said. “This is a game-changing experience for our customers, and I’m excited to help ensure everyone in San Antonio knows just how much AT&T GigaPower has to offer.”

Previously, Ryan’s assistance with launching AT&T GigaPower in another market and his 20 years of experience with the residential sales channels made him an easy choice when it came time to determine who would take the service to the next level. Ryan spent the first 14 years of his career working in San Antonio in the consumer call center as a service rep, center manager and later as a business marketing channel manager. He is excited to return to San Antonio with his wife, Dianne, and they are already looking forward to volunteering again with local charities in the community.

The success of the first AT&T GigaPower market in Austin, Texas led to a major expansion beginning in 2014. AT&T is working with local leaders within the 21 state service area who are interested in expanding the availability of the 100% fiber-optic network to consumers and small businesses. U-verse with AT&T GigaPower is available in 15 markets today, and plans have now been announced to offer AT&T GigaPower in parts of the Jacksonville, Orlando, St. Louis and San Antonio markets.
