Mobile Megaphone: Top 5 College and Pro Venues by Total Data Usage
Below are the top performing venues from the past week as well as a few interesting trends we noticed.
Winners Like To Be Heard
- Four of the top five college venues for data usage this week play are home to a team currently ranked in the polls. The combined record of the five teams playing in this week’s top venues is 17-5.
- In comparison the other 19 college venues we have a DAS on-air at and hosted a college game this past week had a combined record of 52-30, which is approximately 0.140 less of a winning percentage than the teams at the top five venues.
- Even more, only 3 of the teams that play at the 19 venues, outside this week’s top five venues, are currently ranked in the polls.
- In pro football, the top five venues also host clubs squarely in the playoff picture a quarter of the way through the season. The average position in their divisional standing is currently 2nd out of 4. The teams playing in these venues currently have a combined record of 12-8.
- In comparison the other seven pro venues that hosted games have a combined record of 14-14, which is 0.100 less of a winning percentage than the teams at the top five venues.

Caveats:
- All figures include only data traffic seen on AT&T’s venue-specific mobile network.
- All data metrics come from only venues with a DAS where AT&T’s mobile network is on-air. These metrics are not comprehensive of every game played during this past weekend for professional or college football.
- This data is compiled from only football stadiums that had home games during this selected timeframe where AT&T is on-air on a DAS.
