With Black Friday and Cyber Monday, providing bookends for upcoming Small Business Saturday (Nov. 29), small retailers are once again laser-focused on the holiday season. In fact, more than half report that holiday sales represent up to 25% of full-year sales, and one-third report that the holiday season contributes more than 25% of their total annual sales. This according to the 2014 AT&T Small Business Holiday Survey,* which also reveals that small retailers plan to:

1.      Focus on service

2.      Get social

3.      Stand out from the pack

4.      Run Thanksgiving-weekend sales events

5.      Upgrade tech support

To learn more about these five tips, check out the AT&T Business Circle. AT&T also encourages consumers to “shop small” on Small Business Saturday and throughout the holiday season.

* The AT&T Small Business Holiday Survey was conducted among a representative sample of 489 principals of retail businesses with less than 500 employees in the United States by Bredin, Inc. in October 2014. The survey has a margin of error of +/- 5 percentage points at the 95 percent level of confidence.
