Golf has always been a sport of precision – timing, touch and performance under pressure. Powered by AT&T Connectivity, TGL presented by SoFi preserves what makes golf great while transforming how fans experience it. As the network behind the excitement, AT&T powers the arena experience from gate to seat to social, so the match doesn’t just happen on course, it lives everywhere.

Created by TMRW Sports in partnership with the PGA TOUR, the new, tech-driven golf league blends advanced technology and live competition in primetime. Matches are fast-paced and team-based—three-on-three, completed in about two hours—with PGA TOUR stars going head-to-head.

Players are mic’d up. There’s a referee, timeouts and twists like “The Hammer,” that shift the matches’ momentum. Then there’s the setting: a massive simulator screen and bespoke holes inspired by real places around the world or creative landscapes from the mind of the designer. TGL is built to capture longtime golf fans and introduce the sport to new audiences tuning in around the globe.

When the experience is this dynamic, the network has to be fast, always-on and secure – supporting everything from in-venue connectivity to cloud and AI access from pre-match through the final shot.

While TGL wraps its second season on March 24, AT&T Business has been a key player since the league’s inception, providing fast, reliable connectivity as the backbone that helps make this new category in sports possible.

We also recently announced that AT&T is a Founding Partner and Official Connectivity Partner of TGL. Most importantly, our business-grade network is part of the game, helping to deliver a more immersive experience that makes it easier for fans to follow every shot, moment and match in primetime.

The Challenge: A first-of-its-kind venue where the network is part of the sport

Each match takes place at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, a purpose-built venue that feels more like a blend of an arena, a technology lab and a production studio.

Because this format and this type of arena have never been done before, AT&T Business designed the network architecture from the ground up for a venue where performance expectations would be measured live, in real time, in front of fans and under broadcast lights.

Every live sports venue needs reliable connectivity, but at SoFi Center, the bar is higher. TGL is so technology-infused that if the technology stops working, you have to stop the match. That’s why connectivity and reliability weren’t an afterthought. They were foundational.

Before construction began at SoFi Center, TGL worked with AT&T Consulting to shape the connectivity blueprint alongside the venue build. Our team operated as an extension of TGL’s, helping translate a bold vision into a practical, scalable design.

That early involvement mattered even more when the project hit a significant curveball. A storm impacted construction, and TGL had to pivot from a dome design to a primarily steel structure. That triggered major infrastructure changes, including relocating the data center and moving fiber demarcation points, the critical junction where a service provider’s fiber network meets a customer’s on-site network.

“Building a new venue and starting a new sports league is a massive undertaking, and AT&T was much more than a vendor supplying connectivity services,” said Andrew Macaulay, chief technology officer of TMRW Sports. “We worked side-by-side from the beginning, starting when SoFi Center was just a blueprint. AT&T helped us design and build a network foundation with the speed, reliability and redundancy needed to deliver this next-generation fan and broadcast experience.”

The Solution: A network architecture built for prime time – in venue and on broadcast

To bring TGL’s vision to life, AT&T Business translated the league’s needs and aligned the network infrastructure so the technology powering gameplay, fan experience and broadcast could perform seamlessly from day one.

Here’s what that foundation includes and what each component powers.

  • AT&T Dedicated Internet (ADI): the backbone – Every connected experience needs a dependable  core. ADI delivers a high-capacity, dedicated and dual-diverse internet foundation built for the demands of a high-tech venue, helping keep critical systems running and powering the digital experiences  fans expect.
  • Wi-Fi: fan engagement, plus secure operation – TGL’s fan-facing SoFi Center WiFi presented by Famers Insurance, developed and maintained by AT&T, helps guests engage in the moment - capturing and sharing content, interacting during matches and staying connected throughout the venue. Meanwhile, secure back-of-house connectivity supports the essentials behind the scenes - ticketing, point-of-sale and venue systems.
  • Global Video Service (GVS): flexible broadcast transport – TGL is built for primetime. AT&T Global Video Service is unique because it sits at the intersection of telecom-grade networking and professional video, delivering a managed, broadcast quality, globally scalable video solution. It is purpose-built for enterprise and broadcasters who can’t afford uncertainty when video is live and the stakes are mission-critical.
  • AT&T NetBond: cloud connectivity – TGL operates in a data-driven environment, and AT&T NetBond helps deliver private, secure connectivity to cloud services, supporting systems like scoring that benefit from cloud scale while maintaining the performance and reliability the game depends on.
  • AT&T Virtual Private Network (AVPN): secure remote connectivity – AVPN supports secure access for a distributed workforce so specialized teams can work from anywhere with confidence, reducing the need for large on-site crews while keeping operations seamless and secure.
  • Cybersecurity: helping protect what must stay online – High-profile venues are high-profile targets. Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) protections and premise-based firewalling help safeguard network traffic and protect systems and data because reliability isn’t just about performance; it’s resilience under attack.
  • AT&T Phone for Business Advanced: day-to-day operations – Even in a next-gen venue, the fundamentals still matter. Business voice services keep venue operations moving by enabling clear, reliable  coordination across teams.

Our work with TGL didn’t stop on opening day. We continued supporting the league through Season 2, enabling new in-venue audio experiences and adapting to ongoing operational needs. And as TMRW Sports grows its portfolio of technology-infused competition and expands with WTGL, a new women’s team golf league launching this winter, AT&T will continue providing the connectivity needed to help bring those experiences to life.

The Impact: Connectivity powering a new blueprint for live sports and entertainment

TGL shows what’s possible when an ambitious idea is matched with the right connectivity partner. From shaping the network blueprint before construction began, to adapting through major changes, and supporting ongoing innovation as TMRW Sports evolves, AT&T Business delivers the scalable, resilient foundation that turns new ideas into real-time experiences and unique fan experiences that keeps the league pushing forward.

Through TGL, AT&T Business is demonstrating advanced connectivity in action—network performance built to keep pace in real time and support consistent execution no matter what.

And the impact goes beyond sports. It’s also a strong example of what AT&T Business can deliver for organizations of all sizes: reliability and expertise to turn bold ideas into reality—and connect to greater possibility.
