As a market leader in the communications industry, AT&T was a pioneer in developing technologies for the Smart Car revolution. Initially beginning with vehicle cellular connectivity, AT&T’s telematics R&D has evolved from location-based services to today’s entertainment and Internet-of-Things applications. AT&T is offering for sale a package of patents relating to a variety of these applications and the infrastructure elements needed to support them.
Patent License Program
AT&T's program licenses hardware and software capable of encoding and decoding content in compliance with the MPEG-4 Part 2 and MPEG-4 Part 1 O/H.264 standards. This typically involves mobile handsets, game consoles, digital cameras, set-top boxes, broadcast equipment, video teleconferencing equipment and software. This highly successful program, to date, has over 25 licensees worldwide.
