We are a leader in the emerging connected car industry and our early efforts were recently validated by Connected World magazine, as our customers, BMW and Tesla, accepted the Connected Car of the Year award in two categories.

Announced at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, the Connected World magazine Connected Car of the Year awards vehicles at all price levels, ranging from the small to ultra-luxury, all with the idea of honoring the best-in-class that fit all driver’s budgets and demonstrate the right blend of technology. These factors are then evaluated in six different categories of vehicle: small, midsize, luxury, ultra-luxury, green and truck. BMW’s 5 Series received the Connected Car of the Year award for the Luxury class, while Tesla’s Model S won the category for Green connected car. Both cars are connected to our wireless network.

In addition to the Connected Car of the Year awards, several other AT&T customers received Connected World Awards, including:

  • Audi, which received the Gold award for the Connected Car category
  • Filip Technologies, which  received the Gold award for  Consumer Electronics
  • Aclara earned Gold recognition for Utilities
  • Detroit – A Daimler Group Brand, placed Silver for Remote Diagnostics
