AT&T GigaPower and AT&T Business Fiber Launches in San Diego

Today we’re announcing the launch of internet speeds up to 1 gigabit per second to homes, apartments and small businesses in the San Diego region.

Consumers on our 100% fiber AT&T GigaPower network in parts of the San Diego region – Carlsbad, San Diego and San Marcos and surrounding communities – can now download 25 songs in 1 second, or download an HD movie in less than 36 seconds (Check out the AT&T GigaPower San Diego launch release). Beyond the single family homes where we’ve made service available, we’re also launching in nearly 15 San Diego region apartment complexes today including making AT&T GigaPower available to residents of the master-planned Civita community in Mission Valley (Check out the Civita release).

The AT&T GigaPower network is currently available in over 1.6 million locations across 24 of the nation’s largest metro areas. We have plans to expand the availability of ultra-fast internet speeds up to 1 gigabit per second in parts of 32 more areas – at least 56 metros in total.

Today we’re also launching 1Gbps speeds on our AT&T Business Fiber network in San Diego. With 1Gpbs speeds, businesses can provide employees with capabilities like seamless audio and video streaming, fast access to the cloud and the ability to transfer massive data files in a fraction of the time, as well as the ability to support a Wi-Fi network. This news marks another important step in our plans to bring our blazing-fast fiber network to more locations in San Diego and nationwide.
