The 5th annual Nation’s Football Classic (NFC) is here. We are proud to be the presenting sponsor that helps celebrate the heritage and tradition of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). By sponsoring this community event, AT&T applauds the next generation of African-American leaders. The game is Friday, September 18, in Washington D.C. at RFK Stadium.

This year’s NFC matchup is a rivalry between 2 prestigious schools from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The Bison of Howard University (Washington, D.C.) and the Pirates of Hampton University (Hampton, VA).  Founded just 1 year apart in 1867 and 1868, both schools claim the nickname of “HU.” Over the years, friendly competition has birthed the debate over which school is “The Real HU.” This rivalry has played out in athletics and in the classroom.

For 2015, bragging rights and more will go to the winner of the Nation’s Football Classic.

Ask any HBCU alumnus and they will share that the black college experience is unlike any other. For this year’s game, 2 AT&T employees who are also proud alums of Howard and Hampton shared their own collegiate experiences.
