Mark Your Calendars: AT&T SHAPE Explores the Convergence of Tech and Entertainment in L.A. in June
Mark your calendars for AT&T1 SHAPE June 2-3, 2018 at Warner Bros. Studios in Los Angeles. SHAPE is an immersive event exploring the convergence of technology and entertainment.

“AT&T SHAPE will again unite developers, creators and media makers in a rare opportunity to encounter the convergence of tech and entertainment in a hands-on experience,” said Kevin Petersen, SVP of Wireless Device, Network and Services Marketing for AT&T Mobility and Entertainment. “Through interactive demos and dynamic speakers, guests will be inspired to shape the future of the technology and entertainment.”
AT&T is hosting 3 competitions during SHAPE:
- AT&T Film Awards: Rising creators were encouraged to submit their films for the AT&T Film Awards. Finalists will be invited to attend SHAPE, where we’ll screen the top-rated films and even have the audience vote for their favorite short and help determine who will take a home a share of $60,000 in prizes. Finalists will also receive a private mentoring session with DuVernay, before she kicks off the AT&T Film Awards with a short conversation about her experience as an aspiring filmmaker.
- AT&T Entertainment App Challenge: In the AT&T Entertainment App Challenge, we’re inviting developers, designers, and creators to submit solutions that use cutting-edge tech to disrupt the way people create and experience entertainment. Whether it be using technologies like technologies like artificial intelligence, virtual reality/augmented reality/mixed reality, Internet of Things, and robotics or developing apps for the second screen, the top solutions will be exhibited at SHAPE. Submissions are now being accepted through April 22, 2018.
- AT&T Create-a-thon: The AT&T Create-a-thon is a short film sprint competition being held onsite at SHAPE. Filmmakers will be given a unique opportunity to shoot their short film idea at Warner Bros. using iconic cityscapes and backlots. There will be a $10,000 cash prize for the best, completed film in a number of categories. Submissions are now being accepted now through April 27, 2018.
Attendees can also tour Warner Bros. Studios’ outdoor sets and soundstages to get up-close looks at props and costumes from iconic films.
