The award of the FirstNet public-private partnership was a big moment for public safety. We now have a historic and meaningful opportunity to bring first responders and public safety personnel the interoperable network and cutting-edge technology they’ve been asking for.

On the heels of reaching our first major milestone to deliver the State Plans for the states and territories, we're committed to the important mission we have ahead. And we continue to put the right people in place to help us achieve our mission.

We’re filling hundreds of new technical, sales and marketing roles with opportunities across the country. This is public safety’s network. So we’re looking for people with the experience in, a passion for and the dedication to serve public safety.

Chris Sambar is one of those people. As senior vice president of AT&T – FirstNet, he will continue to lead the growing team.

He brings 15 years of telecommunications and leadership experience in corporate strategy, sales and regional management. He also served 7 years as an active duty and 16 years in the reserves as a Navy SEAL with deployments in Europe and the Middle East.

Chris has a deep passion for public service. And he understands the importance of reliable, nationwide and highly secure communications.

For Chris, the FirstNet network is an opportunity to continue to serve the public good. He often tells his team they’ve just been drafted into public service.

“We’re building something really special for public safety,” Chris says. “Our hearts were in this mission long before an award was received. We have a huge responsibility in front of us, and we’re 100% dedicated to getting this right. We owe it to the millions of first responders we’ll serve with this unprecedented network and technology ecosystem.

“Our goal is to not just equip fire, EMS and police with today’s technology. We want to put them ahead. And we take a lot of pride in knowing we’re delivering the advanced tools that will help keep the first responders in our families and communities safer,” he added.

This is much more than a job. We’re committed to building America’s first-ever public safety broadband network for first responders.
