At the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, AT&T hosted a mentor event titled the DIRECTV Filmmaker’s Roundtable, providing a platform to help champion storytellers while empowering the next generation of film creatives. The focus this year was to showcase fearless women in filmmaking; those who continue to inspire us and shine a spotlight on underrepresented and overlooked stories in film.

During the mentor event Tribeca fellows got to hear from the Director of “Woman Walks Ahead” Susanna White. You may have seen her work in HBO’s “Generation Kill,” which was nominated for 11 Emmy® awards including Outstanding Directing. And Director Patricia Rozema, a true auteur and visionary, whose acclaimed work includes “Into the Forest” and “Grey Gardens,” to name a few. Veteran film Producer Amy Hobby, the Executive Director of the Tribeca Film Institute moderated the panel.

“Woman Walks Ahead” will be available exclusively on DIRECTV CINEMA beginning on May 31 and will be in theaters on June 29. For more information on DIRECTV CINEMA Exclusives visit directv.com/exclusives.
