One Colorado Safe Schools Program
One Colorado Education Fund’s (OCEF) Safe Schools program works to ensure all students can be out, safe, and respected in all schools across Colorado.
According to the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), the most vital steps to provide a safe, inclusive, and positive educational experience include supporting gay-straight alliances, providing professional development for school staff on LGBTQ student issues, and increasing student access to LGBTQ-inclusive curricular resources.
Since 2010, OCEF has helped to create, and continues to support, the programming of 230 gay-straight alliances throughout the state -- making Colorado the 3rd largest GSA network in the nation.
City Year Denver Team Sponsorship
AT&T is partnering with City Year Denver to sponsor a team of AmeriCorps members implementing City Year’s Whole School Whole Child student intervention model.
A holistic approach to student success, City Year integrates academic and social-emotional supports throughout the school day. These supports ensure that students have access to positive, caring relationships that individualize their learning experience and encourage them to persevere through challenges, build on their strengths and achieve at high levels.
Seventy-six City Year Denver AmeriCorps members will reach nearly 6,000 students in 11 Denver Public Schools during the 2019-20 school year.
The Trevor Project Training & Awareness Campaign
As part of a larger national partnership, AT&T will donate to The Trevor Project to host an educational and training workshop for local AT&T employees on LGBTQ inclusion, support and allyship.
