AT&T in Mexico

With 15.6 million wireless subscribers, AT&T is transforming telecommunications across Mexico and helping to accelerate closing the digital divide in Mexico.

We offer people simple, transparent plans with more data and unlimited calls and text messages. And we provide Mexico’s businesses with innovative mobile solutions. Through AT&T, Mexico’s businesses can get solutions that help them adapt to change in near real-time and meet the needs of tomorrow.

Since buying two wireless companies for nearly $4.4 billion in 2015, we’ve committed to invest another $3 billion to build our wireless network and expand our presence in Mexico. Today, our high-speed 4G LTE network covers nearly 100 million people – 80% of the country’s population. Our network is also the most reliable voice and data network in Mexico on a composite basis.

And we now offer our LTE-M network in Mexico, enabling large-scale Internet of Things deployments – such as smart utility meters and wearables. In 2017, we signed two smart cities collaboration agreements with Mexico City and the state of Quintana Roo – our first such agreements in Mexico.

We’ve increased distribution across the country to match our network reach. We opened a one-of-a-kind Enterprise Experience Center for business customers. And, earlier in 2018, we opened our first AT&T Foundry innovation center in Latin America, dedicated to developing technology solutions for emerging markets. This Foundry joins AT&T’s worldwide network of foundries.

Our solutions focus on helping Mexico’s businesses grow revenues, lower costs, boost efficiency and become more secure. With our network expansion, we’ve grown to create a truly integrated North American platform that serves businesses of all sizes in Mexico, as well as global companies with operations throughout the country. In addition:

  • We were recognized for the 3rd year in a row as a Socially Responsible Company by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi) and Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility (AliaRSE).
  • We’ve created nearly 40,000 jobs in Mexico – 18,000 are AT&T employees.
  • We are a top 5 Great Place to Work® in Mexico across all industries.
