Industry and university collaborations are an important part of AT&T Labs Research by allowing access to solve real-world technology challenges more efficiently.
AT&T Labs Youth Technology Day
50 students from Perth Amboy High School in New Jersey attended a day-long event at AT&T Labs that included STEM workshops, mentoring sessions and scholarship announcements for two technology and engineering high school students. Students met with Mazin Gilbert, vice president of AT&T Labs, to hear about some of the technology innovations at Labs and learn how they can become part of this exciting future world.
Symposium Day
AT&T Labs hosted a one-day symposium for top graduate students around the country. 14 students traveled to NYC to present their research, hear about the exciting work going on at AT&T and to learn about summer and full-time employment opportunities. Woman and underrepresented STEM students represented two-thirds of the attendees.

Young Science Achievers Program (YSAP)
Powered by AT&T's Foundation and Aspire, YSAP helps girls and disadvantaged students reach their fullest potential as innovators today. The final exhibit and award ceremony are held annually in AT&T Labs Research in Bedminster NJ. More than 300 young innovators, educators and families gather to present their projects and receive awards and scholarships.
Girls in Future of Technologies (GIFT)
In October 2017, the resource group Women of AT&T Bay Area chapter sponsored a STEM-themed event GIFT Day. It was attended by 100 middle and high school girls and featured hands on workshops and motivational speakers to expose and inspire exploration of new technologies and future career opportunities.
