Keeping Businesses Connected: Launching AT&T Internet Backup
AT&T Internet for Business Customers Across the U.S. Will Have Access Oct. 1
AT&T* is offering peace of mind to small and mid-size businesses with a backup solution that keeps commerce flowing when trouble strikes. Starting Oct. 1, customers of AT&T Internet for Business can sign up for AT&T Internet Backup for only $10 a month. Businesses need agility and reliability. We are uniquely positioned to offer both with a hybrid networking solution that harnesses the power of our wired and wireless networks.
Internet connectivity can be the lifeblood of a small business. With this solution, if a business loses their internet connection – whether it’s due to a major disaster, construction-related cable cut or simple power outage – we will automatically restore their internet connection over our 4G LTE wireless network. And as we lead the evolution to 5G, customers’ wireless backup experience will only get better.
AT&T Internet Backup is one more way we’re helping to fuel business transformation through edge-to-edge capabilities. It couples truly diverse connections running over separate and expansive wireline and wireless networks with an edge solution that senses and adapts to current conditions. We keep customers connected and business transactions flowing, even in the worst of times. Wireless backup has never been available with this affordable price point and unprecedented simplicity.
AT&T Internet Backup is designed with business continuity at the forefront. Here’s how it works:
- Unlimited Data: Service automatically moves to our 4G LTE wireless network if a customer loses their internet connection. And they can use it for as long as it’s needed. We provide unlimited wireless data throughout the internet outage. There are no data caps.
- Backup Battery: If the internet is down due to a disaster, there’s a good likelihood the power is, too. That’s why our wireless hardware comes with a battery backup that can last up to 8 hours.
- 2 Services, 1 Bill: The $10/month add-on service is consolidated into customers’ AT&T Internet for Business bill.
- Simple Installation: Customers only need to hook up a simple wireless router. Once it’s up and running, they’re covered.
“When disaster strikes, business owners shouldn’t have to worry about staying connected to the internet. But, in today’s digital world, it’s vital they do stay connected, so they don’t lose business. With AT&T Internet Backup, our business customers won’t have to worry about an outage, even during a disaster,” said Roman Pacewicz, chief product officer, AT&T Business.
What Our Customers Are Saying
In June, we launched a trial of the service in 2 markets: Atlanta and Miami. A large number of customers signed up. Here’s what one said:
“We have been Colquitt, Georgia's hometown pharmacy since 1935. The key to our success is our great customer service. And, in today’s digital world, we can only serve our customers if we stay connected,” said Anthony Cobb, co-owner, Grow Drug Company. “We signed up for AT&T Internet Backup because we’ve had trouble with damaged cable lines in the past, and our internet was down for hours. Now I don’t have to worry about that.”
Today, we’re offering AT&T Internet Backup to businesses in Georgia and Florida. AT&T Business customers across the U.S. can sign up starting Oct. 1. For more information, visit att.com/internetbackup .
We are also making the service available through indirect sellers in the AT&T Alliance Channel™.
