As the narrative sweeps back and forth between the 1980s and present day, we come to learn how 30-year-old Katie (Amanda Seyfried) battles the demons that stem from her troubled childhood while simultaneously watching Jake fight to hold on to the thing he loves most—his daughter—at the cost of his fortune, sanity and ultimately his own life. Told through beautifully woven narratives set 25 years apart, “Fathers and Daughters” is a powerful story of love, loss and the tragedies that bring us together and tear us apart.
