AT&T Invests More Than $1.2 Billion Over Three-Year Period to Enhance Local Network in St. Louis
ST. LOUIS, March 23, 2015 - AT&T* has invested more than $1.2 billion in its best-in-class wireless and wired networks in St. Louis during the 2012 through 2014 period, driving a wide range of upgrades to enhance reliability, coverage, speed and performance for residents and business customers.
As part of its Project Velocity IP (VIP), an investment plan focused on network enhancement and expansion, AT&T in 2014 made 56 network upgrades in the St. Louis area, including new cell sites, addition of network capacity, and new wireless high-speed Internet connections. Additionally, AT&T expanded the reach of its network, providing access to AT&T U-verse® High Speed Internet, AT&T U-verse video and AT&T U-verse voice services to more than 38,500 new customer locations.

Notable St. Louis network enhancements in 2014 included:
- Building more than 15 new cell sites in the bi-state area.
- Upgrading more than 30 wireless high-speed Internet connections.
- Expanding capacity to carry traffic on AT&T’s Distributed Antenna System at Busch Stadium.
- Launching AT&T Business Fiber Service in St. Louis.
- Expanding AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet service offering to 75 mbps.
