AT&T Names New Vice President and General Manager for Illinois/Wisconsin
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., May 1, 2014 — AT&T* today announced that it is welcoming industry veteran Shelley Goodman to oversee operations in Illinois and Wisconsin. Goodman will oversee the sales and operations for more than 1,500 employees, 86 AT&T-owned retail locations, and more than 750 national retail partners and authorized dealers.
“Shelley brings tremendous talent to the table, with excellent experience in nearly every aspect of the business, from retail sales operations to the consumer markets and mobility,” said Kelly King, AT&T Central Region President. “Shelley’s expertise and successful track record make her a natural choice to lead our operations in Illinois and Wisconsin.”
In her new role, Goodman will be based out of Hoffman Estates, Ill.
Before being named vice president and general manager for Illinois/Wisconsin, Goodman served as executive director for Sales Operations on the AT&T Headquarters Operations Team. In this role, she was responsible for AT&T’s Michigan Avenue Flagship Brand Store and successfully delivered on its customer experience goals and brand objectives. She also led key strategic initiatives and projects that supported the Retail Sales organization.
Prior to her executive director position, Shelley served as vice president for Sales Operations with AT&T North Central Region Mobility, where she was responsible for all sales operations in the 13-state North Central Region, based out of Chicago.
Goodman began her career in 1989 as part of the company’s Leadership Development Program, starting as a manager in the Public Communications department at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Houston. She held a variety of sales management positions in the business sales organization in Texas and Chicago before moving to Cingular Wireless (now AT&T Mobility) as director of the Affiliate Business Group. A year later, she became sales director for Government Solutions with AT&T Mobility, and in 2008, she was promoted to executive director for Consumer Call Centers with AT&T Midwest Consumer Markets. She then moved to become general manager for Illinois with AT&T Midwest Consumer Markets.
Goodman holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing and Sales from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, graduating from there Magna Cum Laude.
She is married with two sons—Lukas,12 and Zachary, 15—and lives in Palatine, Illinois.
