More than 5.3 million employee and retiree volunteer hours in 2013
AT&T employees build strong, connected and thriving communities. We seek to unleash their human capabilities to create a healthy business environment and listen to and support the communities in which we operate.
Community service is part of AT&T’s roots and is ingrained in our culture, and for more than 100 years, we have been donating our time and talents.
Each year, our employees and retirees, including the AT&T Pioneers and our Employee Resource Groups, take time to enhance our local schools, cities, parks and much more.
In 2013, our employees and retirees volunteered more than 5.3 million hours of time in community outreach activities — worth more than $118 million.1
1 The financial equivalent is determined by using $22.14 per volunteer hour, which is based on the 2012 industry standard from Independent Sector, a leading nonprofit organization that determines the financial equivalent for a variety of volunteer initiatives.
