Closer to the Course
Pebble Beach. This place means a lot to me and the entire golf community.
It’s where nature and the beauty of the game combine to create one of the most memorable settings in sports. And it’s exactly where we are this week - the 2017 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Not only is the scenery stunning, this event is truly unique. PGA TOUR players match up with business leaders and entertainers. I get to team up with country musician Jake Owen, who has become a good friend of mine. We have a great time, but we are certainly focused on winning our first title this year.
Our friends at AT&T are marking their 32nd year as the title sponsor, and they’re celebrating by bringing you all the action from holes 7, 17 and 18 in 4K Ultra High Definition on DIRECTV channel 106.
They’re also bringing back the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Mosaic Experience for DIRECTV subscribers on channel 701. Tune in and you’ll see multiple screens of enhanced coverage. This includes an interactive leaderboard, scorecard, player info and more. Hopefully, you’ll see my name and Jake’s at the top of that leaderboard all week.
If you happen to be here in person, lucky you! For the first time during any PGA TOUR event, AT&T is providing live 360-degree video of 2 select holes.
This exclusive virtual reality broadcast is at the all-new AT&T FanDome and a handful of AT&T stores in the Monterey area. Find the Dome at the Triangle Plaza near holes 6, 7 and 8.
Inside the new AT&T FanDome, you can find an amazing look back at our Journey - called “Jordan Spieth: The Course of Life”. It’s a really cool look back on what we’ve been able to accomplish with AT&T so far. It’s just the beginning, as we’ve got much more to accomplish this year and those to come!
After the video, be sure to pick up a koozie modeled after my AT&T golf bag. It’ll keep your drinks cold! But act fast—we only have so many.
I’m proud to be an #ATTAthlete for many reasons, but the company’s philanthropic spirit is what I love most.
This tournament, specifically, is all about helping the community in the Monterey-area. It’s why the Pro-Am started in the first place – to give back while having fun playing golf with friends.
Through the years, AT&T and the Monterey Peninsula Foundation have raised and given millions of dollars to Monterey-area organizations. In the last fiscal year, the tournament raised $10.8 million, bringing the lifetime total to more than $122 million in funds donated to charity since 1937. That’s something we can all be proud of.
This year is already off to a great start. I’m enjoying every moment on and off the course. And, as always, AT&T is helping me stay connected to my family, fans and friends everywhere I go.
Wherever you’re watching, enjoy the tournament! And whether you’re heading there or to a friend’s to watch, always remember that you’re never alone on the road. Don’t drive distracted. IT CAN WAIT!
