FirstNet® Provides Reliable, Interoperable Connections for Ironton Police During Opioid Crisis
Ironton, Ohio is a small community located on the banks of the Ohio River. The Ironton Police Department battles the ongoing opioid crisis daily, and FirstNet provides the reliability, capability, and accountability officers trust to carry out their mission.
“Most of our policing is around the opioid crisis,” said Chief Pamela Wagner, Ironton Police Department. “Prior to us going to FirstNet, we had coverage issues. We also had throttling issues. That’s a matter of life or death in lots of cases.”
Connecting first responders across agencies to support their mission helps to create one common operating picture for all involved, centralizing information and coordinating response.
“We are using FirstNet in every department throughout the city,” said Sam Cramblit, Mayor of Ironton. “We’ve seen the reliability firsthand — how it works great communicating between departments with our public safety officers.”
