Global Network, Global Sport
The racing world turns its eyes to Austin, Texas, and the Circuit of The Americas this week for the 2013 FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX™ and AT&T is proud to be a part of it. We have a lot in common with racing fans. We both value speed and reliability. And that’s exactly what our products and services help fuel at the track, with the Infiniti Red Bull Racing Team and in the community.
As a proud sponsor of Circuit of The Americas, AT&T is helping to provide the best possible experience for fans and participants alike. We started by installing nearly 100 miles of internal cabling and more than 20 miles of fiber optic backbone at the 3.4-mile circuit track. That work made the Austin venue the first newly built circuit in global motorsports with an entirely IP-based infrastructure. It not only fuels speed and reliability, it gives the circuit a flexible and expandable platform to evolve and grow into the future.

In June, AT&T also improved mobile Internet coverage at the track by joining a new 4G LTE-capable Distributed Antenna System (DAS) thus giving fans an even better wireless experience at Circuit of The Americas.
Additionally, AT&T is the Innovation Partner of Infiniti Red Bull Racing. We support the racing team with expert technical resources. More than 100 sensors on the car capture crucial data when the car is on the track. Our network helps the team capture and analyze the data faster. That gives them the insight they need to make the car perform better when it matters most.

Earlier this month, we announced something that rivals the fast action on the track – AT&T U-verse with GigaPower in Austin. Communities across the city will benefit from the all-fiber, lightning-fast network reaching 1 Gigabit per second***. Be sure to vote today for your community to be one of the first to get GigaPower’ed.
***Speeds may vary and are not guaranteed. Actual speeds vary based on internet factors including site traffic, content provider server capacity, and use of other U-verse services.
