Team in Action
Nov. 20 2018, 2:12 p.m.
Over the past week, our team has continued working around the clock to restore service to areas affected by the ongoing wildfires. We have made significant progress replacing damaged or destroyed equipment throughout Northern and Southern California; service has been fully restored to sites impacted by the Camp Fire in Northern California.
Because of our people on-the-ground in California, our network continues to operate at 99% of normal in affected areas. Our teams have traveled from across the country to ensure first responders and communities stay connected by deploying portable cell sites (COLTs) and generators, refueling generators and back-up power sources at critical facilities, and supporting ongoing restoration efforts.
Our Network Disaster Recovery (NDR) team has deployed a total of eleven portable cell sites and additional network recovery equipment throughout the state. We have and continue to support communications with these assets in locations throughout Malibu and Paradise, including the LA County Fire Department, and the Police Department and Adventis Hospital in Paradise.
We know communication is crucial, especially during times of disaster. Our people are committed to providing those affected the connectivity they need to stay in touch with friends and family.
