It takes a lot to stump a scientist.
Mike Wish had been at AT&T for 15 years when a supervisor asked him a question he couldn't answer on the spot: "What would you like to do with the rest of your career?"
After giving it some thought, Mike decided he'd like to go back to school for computer science. He had no background in coding or computers, but he looked into the future and found it dotted with 1's and 0's. So he worked hard as a part-time student in his 40s, and earned a master's degree from Columbia.
That was 35 years ago.
Mike Wish just celebrated his 50th service anniversary with AT&T.
