Key Takeaways:
- AT&T celebrates the Anniversary of Americans with Disabilities Act
- AT&T named one of the “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion,” earning a 100% top score on the Disability Equality Index.
On the heels of the 33rd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act – an important civil rights law which ensures that people with disabilities have equal rights and opportunities – AT&T is being recognized as a top place to work for disability inclusion.
For the ninth consecutive year, our work to build a sustainable culture of inclusion received a perfect 100 score on the 2023 Disability Equality Index, a joint initiative of Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities. But our work for a fully equitable society does not stop there.
This week, we reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the disability community by signing on to the ‘Disability Inclusion” pledge. Joined by over 100 top companies, the pledge shows commitment in building an inclusive, accessible, and equitable workplace, in particular for people with disabilities, through their company’s participation in the Disability Equality Index.
To celebrate these key moments, our employee Alex Martin, Professional Applications Developer and the National Vice President of our Ability employee group, shares his thoughts on assistive technology and the importance of being supported while staying true to yourself.
