HACEMOS*, AT&T’s* Hispanic/Latino EG, is proud to announce it will award $281,000 in scholarships to Hispanic and Latino students who are pursuing their higher education goals through the annual HACEMOS Scholarship Program*.
Scholarships of $1,500 and $2,500 will be awarded to students attending 2-year and 4-year colleges. Recipients will also receive mentoring opportunities from Hispanic and Latino leaders in their community through HACEMOS’ Scholarship Program and AT&T’s efforts to empower the next generation of leaders to achieve greater possibilities.
“I’m a mechanical engineering major, and I noticed there aren’t a lot of Latinas in engineering. Where I lived growing up, there weren’t a lot of opportunities, so ever since I’ve looked for any opportunities in robotics on my own,” said Priscilla Segovia, HACEMOS Scholarship Program recipient and incoming student at the University of Texas at Arlington. “My goal is to work as a Robotics Engineer for NASA and that’s why this scholarship means a lot to me.”

Now in its 24th year, the HACEMOS Scholarship Program focuses on supporting the next generation of Hispanic and Latino leaders. Scholarship recipients are considered for their academic excellence, leadership, financial need and community involvement.
“The HACEMOS Scholarship Program is part of our commitment to transforming lives and providing possibilities in the Hispanic community through education, mentorship and community engagement,” said Dawn Cordero, national president of HACEMOS, AT&T. “As we celebrate our 35th anniversary as an employee group, we are proud of our continued commitment to supporting young Hispanic leaders.”

HACEMOS is not alone in its efforts to support the next generation of leaders. In 2022, AT&T’s EGs awarded $510,000 in scholarships and logged over 144,000 volunteer hours.
“Our EGs play a big role in lifting up our communities and creating opportunity for greater possibility,” said Michelle Jordan, chief diversity officer, AT&T. “HACEMOS is driving real impact through its scholarship program and it’s something to be really proud of.”
HACEMOS will host celebration events in Dallas, Los Angeles and Atlanta to honor the scholarship recipients.
