AT&T Tips off 2026 Connected Learning Center Expansion in Oklahoma City

Key Takeaways:

  • National expansion: AT&T will award more than 20 nonprofits with Connected Learning Centers (CLCs) in 2026, expanding digital access in communities across the country.
  • What a CLC brings: Each center receives up to $50,000, three years of AT&T Fiber1, Dell computers, and access to digital skills training and resources, including The AchieverySM, AT&T’s free online educational platform for kids.
  • Real-world impact: Since 2021, 86 CLCs across 25 states have served more than 167,000 people, supporting schoolwork, job searches, college applications and essential digital skills.

NBA Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander joined AT&T leaders, elected officials and community members today to open the first Connected Learning Center (CLC) of 2026 at Alpha Community Foundation, marking the launch of AT&T’s nationwide CLC expansion.

At the event, AT&T announced it will award more than 20 nonprofits nationwide with Connected Learning Centers this year. The new locations will provide connectivity, devices and digital skills training to more communities across the country.

“AT&T has always been about connecting people, and this year we’re expanding that commitment by awarding more than 20 new non-profits with Connected Learning Centers—creating even more bridges to opportunity,” said Andy Bailey, director of corporate responsibility, AT&T. “In today’s world, digital access shapes what opportunities you can reach and how far you can go.”

Since 2021, AT&T has opened 86 Connected Learning Centers across 25 states serving more than 167,000 people. As an important part of the community, these CLCs provide a reliable place to get online, complete homework, apply for college or jobs, create resumes, attend virtual appointments, access benefits and learn essential digital skills. By partnering with trusted local nonprofits, CLCs meet communities where they are and help remove barriers to opportunity in an increasingly connected world.

Gilgeous-Alexander joined the opening to help spotlight the importance of digital access for students, families, and job seekers – and the role community partnerships play in unlocking opportunity.

“Access changes what feels possible,” said Gilgeous-Alexander. “Through the SGA Foundation, we care deeply about creating opportunities for young people to learn and build confidence.  AT&T’s commitment to expanding these centers across the country is making a real difference, and I’m proud that OKC gets to help lead the way as more communities gain access to the tools they need.”

As the first CLC opening of 2026, the Alpha Community Foundation CLC will serve residents in Northeast Oklahoma City, supporting Alpha’s work to improve health outcomes, expand educational opportunities, promote civic engagement and provide direct services to those in need. AT&T will open CLCs this year with major collaborators like the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Street Soccer USA and the YMCA.

Connected Learning Centers (CLCs) can be a turning point for people who simply need reliable access, guidance, and a place to build confidence with technology. In Miami, Carol Quintero went from “needing a GPS just to turn on the computer” at the Overtown Youth Center CLC to using AI tools to manage caregiving for her mother. In Los Angeles, Gia Duarte used the Salvadoran American Leadership and Education Fund CLC to complete college applications, ultimately choosing UC Berkeley, and later gave back to the SALEF CLC as an intern. In St. Louis, James Ash, an Urban League CLC user in his 70s, built email and internet skills to prepare for returning to the workforce.

With the opening of more than 20 new CLCs in 2026, AT&T continues to expand access to connectivity, devices and digital skills training, opening doors for greater possibility nationwide.
