AT&T Launches Text-To-Give Campaign to Benefit Flint’s Children
Mobile Users Can Text FLINT to 27722 to Make a $10 Donation for Relief Efforts
AT&T* is launching a text-to-give campaign to benefit local children affected by the Flint water crisis. Donations collected during the giving campaign will support the Flint Child Health and Development Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, devoted to promoting positive health outcomes for Flint’s kids.
“The generosity of Michiganders during the Flint water crisis has been a testament to the character of families in this community and across the state,” said Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley. “Now, thanks to AT&T, helping Flint’s children is as simple as sending a text message.”
Wireless customers who wish to provide financial support to children affected by the public health crisis can text-to-donate to relief efforts in 2 simple steps. Donations sent via text-to-donate are added to a customer’s monthly wireless bill.
Simply text FLINT to 27722 to make a $10 donation to the Flint Child Health and Development Fund.** When prompted, reply to confirm the donation.
“We are grateful for the generosity of AT&T for their ongoing support of children and families affected by Flint’s water crisis,” said Kathi Horton, president of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. “AT&T’s continued support for the long-term needs of Flint’s children will make a real difference in kids’ lives.”
This launch comes on the heels of our initial effort to help those affected by the Flint water crisis. In late January, we contributed $50,000 to support efforts of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint and its Flint Child Health and Development Fund. AT&T has also set up a YourCause employee contribution page to allow the company’s employees around the world to contribute to the recovery efforts in Flint. “AT&T is committed to families in Flint,” said Jim Murray, President of AT&T Michigan. “Mobile technology keeps people better connected than ever before. The text-to-give campaign goes an important step further, not just keeping us connected, but lending a helping hand.”
