Network Update
September 11, 2020 4:00 p.m. CST
We continue to closely monitor the fires in California and the Pacific Northwest. Our network is holding up well and is experiencing very minimal impacts from fire damage or power outages. In fact, it is operating at above 99% of normal in California and Washington and nearly 99% of normal in Oregon despite wildfire activity.
We monitor our network 24/7 both locally and nationally and we will continue to do so during these wildfires because we remain committed to supporting our customers, including first responders, and our employees in the affected communities. Our teams have deployed generators across California, Washington and Oregon and while some areas aren’t accessible at this time, our teams are assessing and repairing damage as quickly and safely as conditions allow. Our local and regional Network support teams and the Network Disaster Recovery (NDR) team, in partnership with the FirstNet team at AT&T, are prepared with network assets in California and the Pacific Northwest for quick deployment if needed.
- The FirstNet team has strategically deployed SatCOLTs to help increase coverage in areas affected by fires.
- We have deployed a fleet of mobile generators to our facilities and cell sites, and strategically positioned additional resources to support our customers and public safety.
