NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 10, 2015 — With more than 85,000 music fans expected at the 2015 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, AT&T is deploying its own stellar network lineup to keep data-hungry crowds connected.

To help Bonnaroo attendees post selfies faster than ever, AT&T will deploy two Mega COWs (Cell Sites on Wheels), three COWs and four CARTs (Compact A/C Radio Telephone Sites). Together, the equipment will provide up to 20 times more network capacity than what’s currently available in the 700-acre field in Manchester. The network enhancements are equivalent to 15 traditional cell sites.

“This music festival grows larger every year,” said Mayor Lonnie Norman, City of Manchester. “AT&T has always been an essential provider of high-speed Internet through their wired and wireless networks, and with this investment, they are once again stepping up to the plate to meet the needs of our community and our visitors.”

"We know how important it is for our fans to stay connected and share their festival moments with friends and family while at Bonnaroo," said Chad Issaq, executive vice president of partnerships, Superfly, co-creator of Bonnaroo. "We're excited to enhance the mobile experience for our attendees."

AT&T invested more than $1.2 billion in its Tennessee wireless and wireline networks from 2012 through 2014. The upgrades helped to enhance speed, reliability, coverage and performance for residents and business customers.

“Bonnaroo continues to thrive in Coffee County because of companies like AT&T that are committed to the success of our community and make the investments necessary to enable folks to share the sights and sounds of Bonnaroo with their friends and family across the world,” said Gary Cordell, Coffee County Mayor.

“Bonnaroo draws in 85,000 festival goers and music lovers every year to this 700-acre farm,” said Kristi Turner, AT&T vice president and general manager, mobility and consumer markets for Tennessee and Kentucky. “As part of the Manchester community, we want to make sure our customers have an exceptional wireless experience. AT&T’s network enhancements will let attendees use their wireless devices to stay connected while texting, tweeting, making calls, and posting to social media with blazing fast 4G LTE speeds.”

In addition to enhanced mobile coverage at this year’s event, AT&T will provide solar-assisted device charging stations for mobile devices.

AT&T is also the exclusive sponsor of this year’s official Bonnaroo Festival mobile app. The app will keep attendees in-the-know on everything related to the festival. Offering a full schedule of performers and events; a detailed festival map with all stages, vendors, and retailers and a comprehensive collection of all important news stories, video updates, and social posts; fans will be able to navigate their way through Bonnaroo with ease.

About Bonnaroo

Set on 700 acres in Manchester, Tenn., Bonnaroo is a four-day festival that draws 80,000 fans every summer. Featuring over 120 musical performances, along with comedy, cinema, sustainability workshops and more, the grounds are converted into a virtual city of music and art. The legendary event began in 2002 as a remarkable idea to serve a passionate fanbase, and ended up becoming the premier multi-day concert destination of the summer which dynamic and eclectic programming paved the way for the age of the great American music festival. Bonnaroo has now evolved into becoming much more than just a concert destination; it has become a cultural touchstone and, for two generations of music fans, a rite of passage. Each year, the lineup cements Bonnaroo as a force in music discovery, exposing its fans to legendary artists, current favorites, as well as breaking acts.
