AT&T Boosts Gameday Mobile Internet Coverage in Martin Stadium at Washington State University
New 4G LTE Network Technology Gives Better Connection on Game Days
When a big play happens this season at Martin Stadium, football fans will enjoy stronger wireless connections as they share the moment with friends and family. AT&T* has boosted its mobile Internet coverage at Martin Stadium. The company is upgrading its network by joining a new Distributed Antenna System (DAS) to give customers a better wireless experience this season at the games.
“When our customers head out to Martin Stadium to cheer on the Cougars, we want them to have a great network experience. We’ve improved the network so they can make a call, post pictures, and download apps at the game,” said Mike Maxwell, vice president and general manager, AT&T Pacific Northwest. “We’re continuing to invest in our wireless network to help customers at Martin Stadium stay connected from end zone to end zone.”
The DAS consists of numerous, small antennas that distribute AT&T’s wireless network coverage throughout Martin Stadium. AT&T expects the system to help improve call reliability and mobile Internet access. The DAS can provide stronger, more consistent wireless coverage to customers. Calls, texts and posts are less likely to get stuck in a traffic jam of other customers’ calls, texts and posts.
AT&T constantly invests in its network to give customers the high-quality services they need to stay connected. AT&T is also adding the latest network technology to ensure customers have wireless service where they need it most. These investments help Washington residents get the best possible experience over the AT&T network, whether at home, at work or on the go. AT&T’s network has the nation’s strongest LTE signal,** and AT&T also has the nation’s most reliable LTE network.***
“We greatly value our relationship with AT&T and our fans visiting Martin Stadium are realizing improved amenities as a result of that partnership, said WSU Deputy Director of Athletics Mike Marlow. “Providing the ultimate game day experience for our fans is paramount and the DAS allows fans access to a multitude of in-game opportunities while also being able to share their experience in real-time.”
Over the past six years (2009-2014), AT&T invested more than $140 billion including investments in its wireless and wireline networks, acquisitions of wireless spectrum and operations. Since 2009, AT&T has invested more in the U.S. than any other public company. In 2014, the Progressive Policy Institute ranked AT&T No. 1 on its list of U.S. “Investment Heroes.”
