From the first pitch to the final out, fans hit it out of the park when it came to sharing epic moments from baseball’s biggest series. There were plenty of big plays to share throughout the series. The data shows it.

We kept fans connected at the ballparks in both Houston and Los Angeles with in-venue Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). A DAS gives fans stronger mobile coverage throughout the series – making it easier than ever to share the thrills of every game with friends and family right from your fingertips.

With the series wrapped and Houston bringing home their first-ever trophy, we crunched the numbers and found our in-stadium networks set some records of their own.

Fast(ball) Facts:

  • Fans were out in full force this year, using 80% more data than during the 2016 series. Data usage jumped from 5 Terabytes to 9 Terabytes*.
  • Over 9 Terabytes of total data was used during the series in Houston and Los Angeles stadiums. That’s equal to nearly 27 million selfies from the stands!
  • Although they didn’t take home the big W, Dodger fans did manage to win the most mobile data usage in a single game. During Game 2, more than 1.5 Terabytes of data crossed our network in the stadium.
