Young Asian Americans Join the AT&T 2016 Digital Campaign

The AT&T* “New GenerAsian” campaign is more than just an Instagram page. It’s a movement. Young, motivated leaders are reframing Asian America through social sharing.

This campaign uniquely allows Asian Americans from all over the U.S. to connect online and share their personal journeys in a fun, creative space. Our ambassadors will be encouraging followers to join the campaign and participate in capturing a new portrait of the next Asian generation by posting their own videos and photos.

The next generation of Asian Americans bring unique perspectives. Meet some of the new generation of game changers who have joined the movement: fitness expert Cassey Ho (Blogilates), dance gurus Anthony Lee, Ben Chung and Mike Song (The Kinjaz), artist AJ Rafael, and public speaker and advocate for gender-equality Nina Davuluri (Miss America 2014).

Alongside our ambassadors, we have 10 Asian American students who are participating in the campaign on their respective university campuses**. These students are movers and shakers within their academic communities and they will be encouraging other Asian American millennials to join them on supporting the campaign.

“AT&T is excited to provide a platform for diverse talent to voice their unique perspectives,” said Jennifer Jones, vice president – diverse markets AT&T Mobility. “Experiences are best shared on a digital platform with a strong network – one that let’s all of us inspire and empower positive conversations about identity and culture. Ultimately, we’re sharing stories about Asian Americans who not just impact but shape our communities.”

“New GenerAsian” strives to shed light on the diverse identities of young Asian Americans today. We encourage all people to participate in this campaign. Every voice and every post counts. Have your friends, family and peers share their stories on Instagram, and don’t forget to hashtag #newgenerasian and #collegegenerasian.  For more information about our campaign and contests, visit newgenerasian.att.com.
