AT&T Celebrates ADA 25th Anniversary
You’re employed, and you love what you do. Now, imagine being legally blind. You would want to know that you could get a job and that your employer would support you with the tools you need to get your job done.
Sunday marks the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 give civil rights protections to individuals with disabilities.
We celebrate the ADA anniversary because it lets AT&T employees like Betsy Dixon come to work, feel included and excel. Learn more about Betsy and find out what AT&T, along with other big-name companies, are doing to ensure their next technical recruits have the skills to develop the next-generation accessibility technology.
The Connect Ability Challenge winds down Monday. Developers from all over the world compete to design the next innovative app to assist people with disabilities. Visit the solutions website to check out the technology up for the grand prize. We will announce the winners on Monday.
