Opening the Door to Greater Possibility

Our world is rapidly being transformed by the widespread and growing availability of 5G and fiber.

And AT&T is leading the charge with our nationwide fast, reliable and secure 5G coupled with our growing, multi-gig fiber internet service.

As much as we depend on broadband connectivity today, we think this is only the beginning. We’re strengthening our network to enable everything from smarter homes and cities to high-quality remote healthcare, augmented and virtual reality and sophisticated new workplace collaboration tools. By 2025, we estimate that users will consume at least 5 times more data than they did in 2021.

Providing those connections is in AT&T’s DNA. Ever since Alexander Graham Bell’s telephone more than 145 years ago, we’ve been a leader in connecting people and businesses. We believe we have the resources, focus, expertise and people to be the best connectivity provider through 5G and fiber.

Leading with 5G and Fiber

We view 5G as the most transformative wireless technology yet, with huge potential to spark innovation in everything from transportation to entertainment. And we take pride in the fact that AT&T offers the nation’s most reliable 5G network1, reaching 290 million people in nearly 24,000 cities and towns in the U.S.

AT&T Fiber reaches about 19 million consumer locations in 100+ metros in the U.S., and we are on track to expand our fiber footprint to pass 30 million-plus locations — consumer and business — by the end of 2025. AT&T Fiber is consistently fast2, and it’s well-positioned to this new age of connectivity for a number of reasons:

  • Fiber we are installing today is multi-gig capable the day we install it, so it can handle the increasing bandwidth demands of our customers.
  • It offers near real-time responsiveness and consistent reliability.3
  • And it provides symmetrical upload and download speeds, which enable enhanced collaboration, gaming, virtual reality and other AI applications.

We’re also proud to operate FirstNet, America’s first and only purpose-built public safety network. FirstNet has approximately 4.4 million connections across more than 24,000 agencies and organizations across the U.S.4

Whatever your needs in this hyperconnected world, AT&T’s integrated network of 5G and fiber has you covered.

Internet for All

Connectivity is at our core. Our greatest impact can only be realized when we bring the benefits of high-quality connectivity and digital access to all, empowering communities with the opportunity to thrive in this modern world. With our expertise and scale, we believe AT&T can be a key player in getting every American online.

Policymakers in Washington took a major step forward with the enactment of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act in 2021, allocating $65 billion to our country’s broadband future and significantly augmenting private industry’s annual investment.

This critical step paves the way for universal broadband in underserved areas, making it affordable for low-income households and providing more resources for digital equity and adoption. Our shared goal is within reach, and AT&T is leading one of the nation’s largest fiber builds7 to provide customers with the speeds and reliability that they want and need for the technologies of today and tomorrow.

The Impact We Make

At AT&T, we strive to promote strong values and support the communities where we live and work, all while celebrating the differences that make each one of us unique.
