AT&T and Cisco Redefine Cloud-Based Conferencing for Connected Devices
Enhanced AT&T Offering Brings Together Audio, Video and Web Conferencing In One Powerful Tool
DALLAS, November 18, 2014 – Together, AT&T* and Cisco are helping to solve the next generation of collaboration needs by making conferencing more accessible for business users. AT&T will offer a new service** that lets customers quickly activate a conference with voice, video and content sharing using almost any connected device—including smartphones, tablets and desktop computers.
The new AT&T service utilizes Cisco® Collaboration Meeting Rooms (CMR) Cloud, a video collaboration service that couples WebEx® Personal Rooms with the cloud-based WebEx Video Bridge into one, instantly-available meeting experience accessible from virtually any video device.
AT&T Conferencing with Cisco CMR Cloud lets customers easily mobilize their business with flexible cloud-based solutions that integrate video, audio and web conferencing capabilities into one. Whether users are in the office or on-the-go, the offering allows them to participate in virtual meetings, share content, and be more productive - all with the push of a button
“Traditionally, business video conferencing meant expensive equipment investments and a fixed office space,” said Abhi Ingle, senior vice president, Big Data & Advanced Solutions, AT&T. “Now, we’re making video collaboration easy and accessible to virtually anyone with a connected device. Additionally, through endpoints like the Cisco IX5000, users can utilize the two-way cameras found on almost many mobile devices for an integrated, highly reliable collaboration solution that helps reduce meeting-related travel costs.”
“Cisco is passionate about helping people get highly collaborative work done without technology hassles getting in the way—this passion is the driving force behind our entire collaboration portfolio including CMR Cloud,” said Rowan Trollope, senior vice president, Collaboration Technology Group, Cisco. “Working with AT&T will give more people their very own collaboration spaces in the cloud – and on their desks – so more great work can get done quicker.”
AT&T Conferencing with Cisco Collaboration Meeting Rooms (CMR) Cloud is expected to be available in December 2014.
