Being a small business owner isn’t easy and black entrepreneurs face unique challenges when becoming their own boss. There’s the late-night fretting over financing, learning how to market a business, and so much more. Considering the impact black-owned businesses have on our overall economy, it’s important that we support their success. That’s why AT&T is proud to once again be a sponsor of the 2017 Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs Summit.

Taking place in Houston, TX, the four-day event runs from May 17 – 20. Attendees will network with other entrepreneurs, hear from subject matter experts, and learn about the latest trends in technology and business.  Registrants will also have the option to check out the latest AT&T Small Business Solutions, and certified diverse businesses can find out more onsite about becoming an AT&T supplier.

On tap to speak at the summit is James Andrews, CEO of SMASHD Ventures. The former music executive will highlight trends in small business and tech and discuss their roles in our ever-evolving global economy. Andrews will also be joined by other business leaders on the “Spotting Trends and Opportunities in Tech” panel.

Andrews will also host a special AT&T “Culture + Code” luncheon with select business owners to talk culture and innovation. Here invitees will have the opportunity to network and connect with rising and established leaders across various industries.

Summit attendees will also get the chance to record personal videos about what being an entrepreneur means to them in our AT&T Social Hub. Attendees will then be able to share their inspiring stories via social media.

The summit will also host the annual AT&T “Going Up! Elevator Pitch Competition” which is available for viewing via the BE Live Stream. This summit staple will take place on May 18 at 6:30 p.m. Winning pitches will win cash to support their business plans. Look for highlights from the summit on the AT&T Business Circle. And don’t forget to follow @ATTSmallBiz, and James Andrews (@KeyInfluencer) for behind-the-scenes content.
