Our teams are closely tracking Winter Storm Cora as it moves across the South. Just know, the industry’s largest disaster response program is ready to respond to help keep wireless and wireline communications up and running – when they are needed the most.
We’ve prepared our network for this storm by:
- Boosting network capacity to accommodate increased call volume.
- Testing the high-capacity backup batteries located at cell sites.
- Staging portable generators and maintaining existing fixed generators.
- Staging emergency response and network recovery equipment in strategic locations for quick deployment following the storm.
In addition, the FirstNet Response Operations Group™ (ROG) continues to support emergency communications for first responders and is prepared to deploy redundant, backup connectivity solutions, where requested.
We will continue to monitor and respond to impacts from the storm and remain focused on keeping our customers, their families and first responders connected.
