AT&T Privacy Notice for Children’s Products and Services

We collect children’s data to provide the product or service that collects the data and not for any other additional purposes such as targeted advertising. But we may also use children’s personal data to do things like the following as allowed by law:

We do not sell personal information of anyone who we know is under 18, unless we receive affirmative permission to do so, nor do we share it for advertising purposes.

Sometimes we hire others to help us provide a product or service, and these service providers may need access to children’s data. They are required to keep children’s data we provide to them confidential and to use it only to provide the services we requested. We will obtain parental consent for this data sharing where legally required. 

We may share children’s data with third parties, including government agencies, when required by law or to protect someone’s safety, if we believe it is reasonably necessary.

This Chart shows the names and specific categories of third parties with which AT&T shares children’s personal information, categories of information shared and the purposes for such sharing.

We keep personal data for only as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the specific purposes for which the information was collected or as needed for business, tax or legal reasons and then it is deleted. 

We work hard to keep children’s data safe using technology and process controls. No security is perfect. In the event of a data incident, we have plans for responding. We will notify you as the law requires.

This notice doesn’t apply to personal data collected by non-AT&T apps and websites, and we encourage parents to review the terms and policies of all apps and websites before allowing children to use them. For more, check out the Digital Parenting resources on the AT&T Screenready website.

We need to collect your child’s data (as described above) to provide the relevant products or services listed in this notice. If you change your mind about giving consent or ask us to delete your child’s data, the product or service may no longer work and at least some of the data may need to be maintained for business, tax, or legal reasons. Sometimes, the only way we can stop collecting your child’s data might be to stop your child’s service.

We keep this privacy notice up to date. You’ll know there’s an update when the date at the top changes. We’ll let you know before we make any big changes to this notice. If you keep using our products and services after we notify you, we’ll take that to mean you’re fine with the changes for any new personal data we collect. Those changes will not apply to previously collected personal data unless we get consent from impacted consumers.
